8-162 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

Ordered as VBU90162, this is an AS568-162 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 5.737 in (145.72 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.943 in (150.95 mm). The back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is valued for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material holds up against aromatic hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents, and engine and transmission fluids. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where amines or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present.
