8-171 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

Ordered as VBU90171, this is an AS568-171 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 7.987 in (202.87 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.193 in (208.1 mm). The back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

Expect good resistance to aromatic hydrocarbons, many acids, and petroleum oils and fuels. Viton® (FKM) is specified for very low compression set at elevated temperature, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with ketones and esters or low-molecular-weight organic acids.

Typical settings include semiconductor equipment, high-temperature process equipment, and aerospace.
