8-174 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

The VBU90174 is an AS568-174 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 8.737 in (221.92 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.943 in (227.15 mm). This back-up ring allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. The material holds up against aromatic hydrocarbons, many acids, and chlorinated solvents. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Exposure to hot water and steam or ketones and esters will shorten service life.
