8-385 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

Part number VBU90385 is an AS568-385 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 15.955 in (405.26 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 16.375 in (415.93 mm). A back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

The compound resists many acids, aromatic hydrocarbons, and engine and transmission fluids. Viton® (FKM) offers outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It should not be specified for service in hot water and steam or amines.
