8-392 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

VBU90392 is an AS568-392 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring measuring an inside diameter of 22.94 in (582.68 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 23.36 in (593.34 mm). In service, this back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, outstanding high-temperature capability. The compound resists chlorinated solvents, engine and transmission fluids, and many acids. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving hot water and steam or amines call for a different compound.
