8-452 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

The VBU90452 is an AS568-452 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 11.475 in (291.47 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 12.025 in (305.44 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Viton® (FKM) offers very low compression set at elevated temperature and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. Expect good resistance to many acids, engine and transmission fluids, and petroleum oils and fuels. The material carries a published service range of -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving hot water and steam or amines call for a different compound.

Typical settings include oil and gas, chemical processing, and semiconductor equipment.
