8-455 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

The VBU90455 is an AS568-455 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring with an inside diameter of 12.975 in (329.57 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 13.525 in (343.54 mm). This back-up ring bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

This material stands up to chlorinated solvents, aggressive chemicals, and many acids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: Viton® (FKM) offers outstanding high-temperature capability and the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Published continuous service range is -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving amines or hot water and steam call for a different compound.
