This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-459 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 14.975 in (380.37 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 15.525 in (394.34 mm), catalogued under part number VBU90459. It allows a standard o-ring to operate at higher pressures than it could unsupported.

Expect good resistance to petroleum oils and fuels, aggressive chemicals, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Viton® (FKM) delivers excellent resistance to compression set and permeation, the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). Verify compatibility before use with amines or hot water and steam.
