8-460 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

The VBU90460 is an AS568-460 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 15.475 in (393.07 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 16.025 in (407.04 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments, excellent resistance to compression set and permeation. This material stands up to chlorinated solvents, petroleum oils and fuels, and aromatic hydrocarbons. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. It is not the right choice where low-molecular-weight organic acids or ketones and esters are present.

Common environments for this compound include automotive fuel systems, chemical processing, and high-temperature process equipment.
