8-461 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

The VBU90461 is an AS568-461 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring built to an inside diameter of 15.955 in (405.26 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 16.505 in (419.23 mm). This back-up ring installs on the low-pressure side of an o-ring to prevent extrusion into the clearance gap at elevated pressure.

Viton® (FKM) is known for long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments and outstanding high-temperature capability. This material stands up to petroleum oils and fuels, many acids, and engine and transmission fluids. Rated temperature range runs from -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C) in continuous service. Applications involving low-molecular-weight organic acids or hot water and steam call for a different compound.
