8-465 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

This back-up ring is supplied in AS568-465 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 17.955 in (456.06 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 18.505 in (470.03 mm), catalogued under part number VBU90465. It bridges the extrusion gap so the primary seal holds its shape under load.

As a material, Viton® (FKM) is widely chosen for the industry benchmark where nitrile reaches its thermal limit and outstanding high-temperature capability. It resists many acids, chlorinated solvents, and aggressive chemicals. Service temperature is rated from -15°F (-26.1°C) through 400°F (204.4°C). Applications involving ketones and esters or amines call for a different compound.
