8-469 BLACK FKM 90D BACK-UP RING

The VBU90469 is an AS568-469 black Viton® (FKM) 90 Shore A Back-Up Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 19.955 in (506.86 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 20.505 in (520.83 mm). This back-up ring extends o-ring service life by supporting the seal against extrusion under high pressure.

Viton® (FKM) is specified here for outstanding high-temperature capability and long service life in hot, chemically aggressive environments. This material stands up to chlorinated solvents, petroleum oils and fuels, and many acids. Continuous operating temperature is published at -15°F (-26.1°C) to 400°F (204.4°C). It is not the right choice where hot water and steam or low-molecular-weight organic acids are present.

It sees regular use in aerospace, high-temperature process equipment, and oil and gas.
