As a material, Aflas (TFE/P) is known for high-temperature steam capability that most fluoroelastomers cannot match and strong resistance to rapid gas decompression. The material holds up against brake fluids and phosphate esters, high-temperature steam, and strong bases. Service temperature is rated from -25°F (-31.7°C) through 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving low-temperature dynamic service or some chlorinated solvents call for a different compound.
