An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Aflas (TFE/P) is specified here for exceptional resistance to amine-based additives and excellent electrical insulating properties. The compound resists strong bases, amines and corrosion inhibitors, and hot water. The material carries a published service range of -25°F (-31.7°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). Applications involving aromatic hydrocarbons or low-temperature dynamic service call for a different compound.
