The o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

Aflas (TFE/P) is known for high-temperature steam capability that most fluoroelastomers cannot match and strong resistance to rapid gas decompression. Expect good resistance to strong bases, amines and corrosion inhibitors, and high-temperature steam. Continuous operating temperature is published at -25°F (-31.7°C) to 450°F (232.2°C). It is not the right choice where low-temperature dynamic service or aromatic hydrocarbons are present.
