An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

Aflas (TFE/P) offers high-temperature steam capability that most fluoroelastomers cannot match and exceptional resistance to amine-based additives. The compound resists amines and corrosion inhibitors, hot water, and sour gas and hydrogen sulfide. Rated temperature range runs from -25°F (-31.7°C) to 450°F (232.2°C) in continuous service. Applications involving aromatic hydrocarbons or low-temperature dynamic service call for a different compound.
