The N70040 is an AS568-040 black Neoprene (Chloroprene) 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.864 in (72.75 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.004 in (76.3 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Expect good resistance to mild acids, moderate petroleum oil exposure, and sunlight and salt spray. Neoprene (Chloroprene) delivers strong performance in refrigeration circuits and inherent flame-retarding characteristics. The material carries a published service range of -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C). It should not be specified for service in ketones or chlorinated solvents.
