As a material, Neoprene (Chloroprene) is valued for inherent flame-retarding characteristics and good resilience across a moderate temperature band. This material stands up to refrigerants and ammonia, sunlight and salt spray, and ozone and weathering. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service.
