N70240 is an AS568-240 black Neoprene (Chloroprene) 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 3.734 in (94.84 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.012 in (101.9 mm). In service, this o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

Neoprene (Chloroprene) delivers good resilience across a moderate temperature band and inherent flame-retarding characteristics. The material holds up against sunlight and salt spray, ozone and weathering, and mild acids. Rated temperature range runs from -40°F (-40°C) to 250°F (121.1°C) in continuous service. Applications involving chlorinated solvents or strong oxidizing acids call for a different compound.

Typical settings include general industrial, transit and rail, and weather sealing and enclosures.
