The E70NSF243 is an AS568-243 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.109 in (104.37 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.387 in (111.43 mm). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations, very good flexibility at low temperature. The material holds up against phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, water and steam, and dilute acids and alkalis. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C).
