As a material, EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance, good electrical insulating characteristics. The material holds up against phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, brake fluid, and ketones. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). It should not be specified for service in aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels.
