Ordered as E70423, this is an AS568-423 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4.225 in (107.32 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.775 in (121.29 mm). The o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for good electrical insulating characteristics, outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance. This material stands up to ozone, UV and weathering, brake fluid, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). It should not be specified for service in mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons.

Typical settings include outdoor equipment, HVAC and refrigeration, and solar and roofing assemblies.
