The compound resists dilute acids and alkalis, ozone, UV and weathering, and brake fluid. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) offers excellent hot water and steam resistance, good electrical insulating characteristics. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). It should not be specified for service in aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels.
