EPDM (EPR) offers excellent hot water and steam resistance, very good flexibility at low temperature. It resists brake fluid, ozone, UV and weathering, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C).

The compound meets FDA requirements for food contact, carries NSF listing, and is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include HVAC and refrigeration, outdoor equipment, and solar and roofing assemblies.
