E70040 is an AS568-040 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 2.864 in (72.75 mm), a cross section of 0.07 in (1.78 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.004 in (76.3 mm). In service, this o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

It resists brake fluid, dilute acids and alkalis, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. EPDM (EPR) delivers good electrical insulating characteristics and very good flexibility at low temperature. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). Applications involving mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons call for a different compound.

Typical settings include outdoor equipment, brake and phosphate ester systems, and solar and roofing assemblies.
