An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

The compound resists phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, brake fluid, and ozone, UV and weathering. EPDM (EPR) is valued for strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations, good electrical insulating characteristics. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C) in continuous service. Exposure to petroleum oils and fuels or mineral oil-based lubricants will shorten service life.
