Ordered as E70172, this is an AS568-172 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 8.237 in (209.22 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 8.443 in (214.45 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

EPDM (EPR) offers outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance, good electrical insulating characteristics. Expect good resistance to ozone, UV and weathering, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and dilute acids and alkalis. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). Exposure to aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels will shorten service life.
