This o-ring is supplied in AS568-221 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A supplied with an inside diameter of 1.421 in (36.09 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 1.699 in (43.15 mm), catalogued under part number E70NSF221. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The material holds up against ketones, water and steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) delivers outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance, very good flexibility at low temperature. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in petroleum oils and fuels or aromatic hydrocarbons.
