-231 BLACK EPDM 70D O-RING

E70231 is an AS568-231 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 2.609 in (66.27 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 2.887 in (73.33 mm). In service, this o-ring creates a positive seal at flange, piston and rod interfaces without added hardware.

It resists ozone, UV and weathering, brake fluid, and dilute acids and alkalis. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) delivers excellent hot water and steam resistance, good electrical insulating characteristics. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C) in continuous service. Applications involving mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons call for a different compound.

Common environments for this compound include solar and roofing assemblies, HVAC and refrigeration, and water and steam systems.
