Ordered as E70NSF239, this is an AS568-239 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 3.609 in (91.67 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 3.887 in (98.73 mm). The o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
It resists ozone, UV and weathering, water and steam, and dilute acids and alkalis. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for excellent hot water and steam resistance, very good flexibility at low temperature. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C).
The compound meets FDA requirements for food contact, carries NSF listing, and is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. Common environments for this compound include potable water applications, brake and phosphate ester systems, and HVAC and refrigeration.
Stocked as E70NSF239 and sold individually. Unit weight is approximately 3.3414 g. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. APG supports cross-referencing from drawings, samples and competitor numbers when a listed size is not an exact fit.
