An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The material holds up against ketones, ozone, UV and weathering, and brake fluid. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) delivers good electrical insulating characteristics and very good flexibility at low temperature.
