This o-ring is supplied in black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A built to an inside diameter of 258 mm (10.157 in), a cross section of 2.5 mm (0.098 in), and an outside diameter of 263 mm (10.35 in), catalogued under part number E2.5X258. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The compound resists water and steam, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and dilute acids and alkalis. EPDM (EPR) is specified for outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance, very good flexibility at low temperature. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). Applications involving aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels call for a different compound.
