APG stocks the E70261, an AS568-261 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 6.734 in (171.04 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 7.012 in (178.1 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
As a material, EPDM (EPR) is valued for very good flexibility at low temperature, excellent hot water and steam resistance. The compound resists ketones, water and steam, and brake fluid. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C) in continuous service. Exposure to aromatic hydrocarbons or mineral oil-based lubricants will shorten service life.
You will find this material specified across water and steam systems, potable water applications, and brake and phosphate ester systems.
Reference part number E70261 when ordering; the item is sold individually. Unit weight is approximately 6.03 g and nominal inside diameter is listed as 6 3/4 inch. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design.
