E70NSF342 is an AS568-342 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring measuring an inside diameter of 3.6 in (91.44 mm), a cross section of 0.21 in (5.33 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.02 in (102.11 mm). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

EPDM (EPR) offers strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations, excellent hot water and steam resistance. It resists ozone, UV and weathering, ketones, and dilute acids and alkalis. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). It should not be specified for service in petroleum oils and fuels or aromatic hydrocarbons.

The compound meets FDA requirements for food contact, carries NSF listing, and is metal detectable for HACCP and foreign-body control programs. It sees regular use in solar and roofing assemblies, water and steam systems, and brake and phosphate ester systems.
