Part number E1X4 is a black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 4 mm (0.157 in), a cross section of 1 mm (0.039 in), and an outside diameter of 6 mm (0.24 in). An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

The material holds up against ketones, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and dilute acids and alkalis. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) is valued for outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance, strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations.
