E2.5X40 is a black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 40 mm (1.575 in), a cross section of 2.5 mm (0.098 in), and an outside diameter of 45 mm (1.77 in). In service, this o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

Expect good resistance to dilute acids and alkalis, ozone, UV and weathering, and ketones. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance, very good flexibility at low temperature. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). It should not be specified for service in aromatic hydrocarbons or mineral oil-based lubricants.

Typical settings include solar and roofing assemblies, potable water applications, and HVAC and refrigeration.
