As a material, EPDM (EPR) is specified for strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations, excellent hot water and steam resistance. The compound resists water and steam, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and dilute acids and alkalis. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). It is not the right choice where mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons are present.
