This o-ring is supplied in AS568-421 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 3.975 in (100.97 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.525 in (114.94 mm), catalogued under part number E70421. It remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The material holds up against ketones, water and steam, and brake fluid. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) is specified for very good flexibility at low temperature and good electrical insulating characteristics. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). It is not the right choice where aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels are present.
