E5X43 is a black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 43 mm (1.693 in), a cross section of 5 mm (0.197 in), and an outside diameter of 53 mm (2.09 in). In service, this o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, EPDM (EPR) is known for good electrical insulating characteristics, excellent hot water and steam resistance. It resists phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, dilute acids and alkalis, and brake fluid. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C).
