The E70431 is an AS568-431 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 5.225 in (132.72 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 5.775 in (146.69 mm). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

The material holds up against water and steam, ketones, and brake fluid. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) offers good electrical insulating characteristics and very good flexibility at low temperature. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C).
