Part number E70471 is an AS568-471 black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 21.955 in (557.66 mm), a cross section of 0.275 in (6.99 mm), and an outside diameter of 22.505 in (571.63 mm). An o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

It resists dilute acids and alkalis, water and steam, and phosphate ester hydraulic fluids. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations, excellent hot water and steam resistance. Rated temperature range runs from -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C) in continuous service. It should not be specified for service in mineral oil-based lubricants or petroleum oils and fuels.
