Ordered as E2.5X51, this is a black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring supplied with an inside diameter of 51 mm (2.008 in), a cross section of 2.5 mm (0.098 in), and an outside diameter of 56 mm (2.2 in). The o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

As a material, EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for very good flexibility at low temperature, excellent hot water and steam resistance. This material stands up to brake fluid, dilute acids and alkalis, and ozone, UV and weathering. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). Exposure to aromatic hydrocarbons or mineral oil-based lubricants will shorten service life.

It sees regular use in brake and phosphate ester systems, outdoor equipment, and solar and roofing assemblies.
