The E3X79.5 is a black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring with an inside diameter of 79.5 mm (3.13 in), a cross section of 3 mm (0.118 in), and an outside diameter of 85.5 mm (3.37 in). This o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.
It resists ketones, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and dilute acids and alkalis. That behavior comes from the compound itself: EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for very good flexibility at low temperature and good electrical insulating characteristics. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). It is not the right choice where aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels are present.
Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across potable water applications, water and steam systems, and brake and phosphate ester systems.
Reference part number E3X79.5 when ordering; the item is sold individually. Review your operating media and conditions against this specification before installation. If you need a size, durometer or compound that is not listed, APG can cross-reference from a print, a sample or a competitor part number.
