APG stocks the E1.9X8.9, a black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 8.9 mm (0.35 in), a cross section of 1.9 mm (0.075 in), and an outside diameter of 12.7 mm (0.5 in). An o-ring provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.
EPDM (EPR) is valued for outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance, very good flexibility at low temperature. It resists dilute acids and alkalis, ketones, and brake fluid. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). It is not the right choice where aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels are present.
You will find this material specified across brake and phosphate ester systems, outdoor equipment, and potable water applications.
Stocked as E1.9X8.9 and sold individually. Check the compound against your process media, pressure and temperature before committing to a design. For a size or compound outside the standard catalog, APG can quote from a print or sample.
