The E2X9 is a black EPDM (EPR) 70 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 9 mm (0.354 in), a cross section of 2 mm (0.079 in), and an outside diameter of 13 mm (0.51 in). This o-ring compresses into its gland to block fluid or gas migration across a joint.

EPDM (EPR) is widely chosen for very good flexibility at low temperature and good electrical insulating characteristics. Expect good resistance to phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, ketones, and dilute acids and alkalis. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). Applications involving aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels call for a different compound.
