An o-ring remains the most cost-effective sealing element available for pressurized assemblies.

The compound resists phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, ketones, and water and steam. EPDM (EPR) is specified for very good flexibility at low temperature, outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance. Service temperature is rated from -65°F (-53.9°C) through 300°F (148.9°C). It should not be specified for service in aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels.

Typical settings include brake and phosphate ester systems, outdoor equipment, and water and steam systems.
