Part number E80PC178 is an AS568-178 black EPDM (EPR) 80 Shore A O-Ring built to an inside diameter of 9.737 in (247.32 mm), a cross section of 0.103 in (2.62 mm), and an outside diameter of 9.943 in (252.55 mm). An o-ring seats in a machined groove and forms a leak-tight barrier when compressed between two mating surfaces.

As a material, EPDM (EPR) is valued for good electrical insulating characteristics and very good flexibility at low temperature. Expect good resistance to phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, ketones, and dilute acids and alkalis. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C).
