This o-ring is supplied in AS568-243 black EPDM (EPR) 80 Shore A measuring an inside diameter of 4.109 in (104.37 mm), a cross section of 0.139 in (3.53 mm), and an outside diameter of 4.387 in (111.43 mm), catalogued under part number E80PC243. It provides a reliable static or dynamic seal by deforming into its gland under assembly load.

EPDM (EPR) is known for strong performance in outdoor and exposed installations, very good flexibility at low temperature. It resists phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, dilute acids and alkalis, and ozone, UV and weathering. Continuous operating temperature is published at -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). It should not be specified for service in mineral oil-based lubricants or aromatic hydrocarbons.

It sees regular use in solar and roofing assemblies, water and steam systems, and HVAC and refrigeration.
