The material holds up against dilute acids and alkalis, brake fluid, and water and steam. EPDM (EPR) is specified for good electrical insulating characteristics, outstanding weather, ozone and sunlight resistance. Published continuous service range is -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). Exposure to aromatic hydrocarbons or petroleum oils and fuels will shorten service life.
