As a material, EPDM (EPR) is valued for good electrical insulating characteristics, excellent hot water and steam resistance. This material stands up to phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, ketones, and dilute acids and alkalis. The material carries a published service range of -65°F (-53.9°C) to 300°F (148.9°C). It is not the right choice where mineral oil-based lubricants or petroleum oils and fuels are present.

Maintenance and OEM teams specify it across water and steam systems, solar and roofing assemblies, and potable water applications.
